Procedure Text adalah sebuah teks yang bertujuan menceritakan langkah-langkah untuk membuat, mengoperasikan atau melakukan sesuatu. Guna dari teks ini yaitu untuk menceritakan apa yang harus dilakukan saat membuat, mengoperasikan atau melakukan sesuatu secara detil dari mulai awal sampai akhir secara berurutan sehingga pembaca paham dalam mencapai tujuannya.

- Menggunakan Simple Present Tense (S+V1)
Ex: serve, enjoy, place, etc - Menggunakan kalimat imperative (perintah)

Procedure Text memiliki beberapa jenis, yaitu:
- Procedure teks yang berupa instruksi mengoperasikan suatu barang.

Ex: how to make a cup of coffee, how to play soccer, how to build a house - Procedure teks yang berupa interaksi kehidupan manusia.

Generic Structure dari Procedure Text
Bagian tubuh dari procedure teks adalah:
- Goal/Aim (Tujuan)
Menginformasikan tentang maksud dan tujuan dari pembuatan teks prosedur yang sudah tertera di judul. - Materials (Bahan)
Paragraf ini menjelaskan tentang bahan apa saja yang dibutuhkan dalam proses penyelesaian tujuan dari judul yang tertera. - Steps (Langkah)
Menjelaskan tentang tindakan atau cara untuk mencapai hasil dari tujuan secara berurutan.
Contoh Procedure Text
How to Make a Cup of Milk tea
Ingredients:
- 1 sachet of vanilla milk
- 1 of tea bag
- 1 sachet of sugar
Tools:
- Stove/Water Heater
- A cup
- Spoon
- Stew pan
Steps:
- First, boil the water in 5-7 minutes.
- Then, put 1 sachet of tea bag, milk and sugar into the cup.
- Next, pour the hot water into the cup and stir all ingredients.
- Finally, serve the milk tea and enjoy it.
Cara Membuat Secangkir Teh Susu
Bahan:

Alat:

- Cangkir

Langkah-langkah:
- Pertama, rebus air selama 5-7 menit.

- Selanjutnya, tuangkan air panas kedalam cangkir dan aduk semua bahan tersebut.
- Terakhir, sajikan teh susu dan nikmati.
